Here are five tips for creating a profile reel.

Tips for recording a reel.
1 / Get Comfortable on Camera.

Recording a reel of yourself can feel strange at first, especially if you have never done it before. Although it may be uncomfortable, the best way to feel more relaxed when recording yourself is simply to keep doing it.Practice talking to the camera and taking test reels.

Check how you are, ensure you have calm and open body language, have a relaxed expression and put your shoulders back. This will allow you to appear professional and confident.

2 / Write it down before you start.

Write down what you want to say, add some bullets points about what you have in find. Some people freeze up after hitting record, and forget everything they wanted to say. But, do not be hard on yourself, remember even though you might make some mistakes, you can always, stop and re-start the recording.

3 / Dress up for the part.

Wearing clothes that make you feel good will improve how comfortable you feel. This has a knock-on effect, making your camera presence more confident.

4/ Get some friendly feedback.

Once you are happy with your reel, get some feedback from a friend, or a family member or even a colleague. They might pick up a few things that you have missed or even tell you if you’re talking too fast.

5 / Be Yourself!

As you become more confident with your on-screen presence, don’t be afraid to embrace your quirks and mannerisms. Your unique selling point is yourself, so be sure to let your personality shine.
